Jensen Loudspeakers traces its origins to 1927, when Danish-born inventor Peter Laurits Jensen founded the Jensen Radio Manufacturing Company in Chicago, Illinois. Jensen had previously co-invented the first practical loudspeaker — the "Magnavox" — with Edwin Pridham in 1915, a device first used publicly to amplify President Woodrow Wilson's speech in San Diego in 1919. By the 1940s, Jensen speakers had become the standard for the emerging electric guitar amplifier market. Leo Fender selected Jensen speakers for his earliest amplifier designs, and throughout the 1940s, '50s, and '60s, Jensen was the go-to speaker supplier for Fender, Ampeg, and Gibson. Iconic models like the P10R (featured in the Fender Super Reverb) and the P15N (used in early Fender Bassman and Bandmaster amps) helped define the sound of American popular music.

Jensen ceased loudspeaker production in the early 1970s, but demand for the speakers as replacements never faded. In 1996, Italian manufacturer SICA Altoparlanti began producing reissue Jensen speakers built to original specifications, and in 2008 expanded into new designs under the Jensen name. The speakers are distributed in the United States by CE Distribution. The product line spans Vintage Series speakers (Alnico, Ceramic, and Neo magnet types that recreate the classic Jensen sound) and the Jet Series, a modern range that includes the Blackbird (a high-wattage AlNiCo speaker), the lightweight neodymium-powered Tornado, the versatile Falcon, and the Silverbird. Jensen also produces dedicated bass speakers and the Mod and D-Series lines for players seeking different tonal profiles.
