Lectrosonics is a professional audio manufacturer based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, founded in 1971. The company began with the Voice Projector portable PA line before entering the wireless microphone market in 1975 with the Freedomike. Under new leadership in the early 1980s, Lectrosonics expanded its in-house mechanical engineering and machining capabilities, introducing the rugged machined-aluminum housings that became a hallmark of its transmitters and receivers.

The brand is best known for its Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, introduced in 2002, which earned an Academy Award for Technical Achievement in 2017 and remains a mainstay in film, television, and broadcast production. Its product catalog spans wireless microphone systems such as the D Squared digital line and the DCR822 receiver, the SSM micro-bodypack transmitter designed for theatrical use, the Duet digital IEM/IFB system with Dante and AES256 encryption, and portable recorders including the PDR, SPDR, and MTCR miniature timecode recorder.

Beyond location sound, Lectrosonics also produces the ASPEN series of DSP-based audio processors used in courtrooms, boardrooms, and other A/V installations. All Lectrosonics products are manufactured at the company's Rio Rancho facility, and the brand has become a standard tool on Broadway productions and major film and television shoots.
