The feature set (and therefore sound) of the Gibson Les Paul changed dramatically from 1952 (when it was introduced) to 1960 (when it was changed drastically into something now resembling the Gibson SG). I would argue that the year of Les Paul is important amongst that initial run, and therefore this differentiation should be kept, though the colour is irrelevent to the sound of the instrument and should be removed.

@thenamelessbook Very true! However, my understanding is that Equipboard generally wants to avoid years whenever possible. Otherwise there would be a myriad of different item pages for the same gear.

Perhaps @gchiaren and @michael can weigh in on this?
