The two-transistor 'MK1.5' Tone Bender was built by Sola Sound during a period of several months spanning from approximately late-1965/early-66 to mid-1966. The unusual model designation of the 'MK1.5' refers to how the pedal sits, chronologically, between the three-transistor Tone Bender from 1965 (now dubbed the 'MKI') and the three-transistor Tone Bender Professional MKII. A useful way of looking at this model is by considering it to be a transitional Tone Bender, built between the famous three-transistor ‘MKI’ and Professional MKII models.

Compared with the earlier versions of the Tone Bender, the 'MK1.5' was housed in a cast aluminium enclosure, and featured fewer components. These combined factors resulted in a product that was both cheaper and easier to mass-produce, and as a result, the 'MK1.5' is one of the more commonly seen surviving pedals from 1966.

Gather round & feast your sense organs on our latest venture into a world more welcoming of color: the WARLOW.

This polychromatic set is our take and dedicated interpretation of an op-amp based, Pi-style fuzzstortion/distortiofuzz pedal which authentically captures the late 90s' Seattle-based grunge texture and tone. It incorporates high grade Burr-Brown chips and Germanium clipping diodes which bring about a very pronounced low end and a truly barefaced fuzz.

This aesthetic escapade is also an embrace of variety of tastes and their expression, as well as a dedication to the very colorful new experiences we have had over this last year. It is limited to 5 colors (each consisting of 10 units), and an additional 50 units in our classic grey metal enclosures.
