The information box I was mentioning is the "Artist Quote or Explanation" when submitting, and can be altered through editing when you clicked "Added more details". You would go to an artist's instrument and click "more", all the information to the right of the source and under the item is what I was referring to.

I like the search feature you talked about. The site has in fact added a first version of the already with the category feature on items. I'm sure in time it will be more in-depth. For now, there are other issues they are working on. Just about once a month I feel we get a huge new feature, be it for the staff or for the users. Duplicate submissions was a big one, and is a feature that will definitely shape the whole site a little more.

I actually forgot to add that years can make a huge difference, but I think that most of the items that have years sorted out here don't have any big difference. I suggest that we should perhaps keep the years, but only for the models which differ a lot. Example - 1971 Fender Strat and 1972 one don't really have huge differences. But if there would be any guitar with the same model, but different in things such as pickups, headstock, even body shape - I would definitely leave the year on if guitar doesn't have any different markings...

Another suggestion - we should add the "Person commented to your submission" and remove the "person replied to your submission". Comment could be anything, from another source for the gear or Jim's nostalgia for the gear I submitted (no offence, love it!). This system, where it only shows that a person has replied is confusing. I really don't want to see my correct submissions, I'm glad that they are correct. I only want to check them if there are some additional sources on it, if possible. But when I get to the EB, I want to see the notifications and see "Person marked your submission as correct" or "Person marked your submission as incorrect", or the needs improvement one. Or "person commented". Otherwise, it just wastes my time when I have like, 15 notifications and you have to go through all of those individually and check what kind of reply did the person leave on your submission.

I get all misty eyed about some gear.... certain pieces are like ex girlfriends you remember fondly but probably wouldn't date again.

Apologies if this has been asked for before.... Can we have a "back arrow" for the first position item on our personal equipboards?

I have to add new items and drag them to the bottom, (because I have colour coded, and prefer certain items at the front). As I add new items, I push them all the way to the end for the most part.

Would love to add and back arrow once to the end of my list.

GEAR:
  • Fender MIJ Jazzmaster JM62
  • Epiphone Dot
  • Electro-Harmonix Sovtek "Green Russian" Big Muff Pi V7C

I think it would be even better if our own boards would work like those of the pros. Sorted by categories etc.

GEAR:
  • Gibson J-45

Just a suggestion, for gear submitted to an artist can a section or text entry fields be included for non-URL sources? Perhaps adhering to proper citation methods to avoid plagiarism? Examples could be the guitar/music magazines, and articles from within them. There is a huge amount of gear talk that is not online but printed and it is very hard to source when a URL cannot be provided.

Maybe having a few text fields for data entry that provides a template for proper citation and maybe having all fields required if text referencing is used. Example:

Author: John Smith Date/Month/Year Published: January 2015 Article Title: Artist´s Rig Talk Magazine/Book Title: A Guitar Magazine Issue/Volume Number: 200 Pages Used: 83-93

Just a thought.

another suggestion, can GChiaren program me a random comment generator so that when I can't think of anything snotty to say I can just click 'random' and get something appropriate, like "that's a better paperweight than a guitar amp," etc?

Dammit if I haven't found a home. Something to piss ya off? My buddy was in Eastern Europe (long while back) can't remember where but he picked up a 55 Tweed from a cobbler for 5 bucks as they had been using it as a doorstop. Fuckin door stop? I want get all future paperweights & doorstops from Eastern Europe. Get that wicked vodka soaked / tindged with a little shoe polish odor "doorstop tone". Maybe record it with a u87 paperweight.

you gotta be kidding me Zach.... that tops when I got a Plexi from a pawn shop that was going udner for $600 and is right on par with when my friend found a brownface fender Princeton on the curb in Philadelphia with a someone's trash and it WORKED FINE once he popped a pair of new 6V6es in it

to be fair, I regularly use a '68 Traynor as a doorstop, but tis nto worth that much and I occasionally lay through it too

so did she fire up for your buddy with no problems or did she need a recap?

That was just one score. That was one of 2 picked up, just the "doorstop" one makes for the best story. It's in top condition & under it's dust cover & the other gets more use only cuz it's not quite as cosmetically clean. Just think mics...& duffle bags. Fuckin duffle bags. Well get around to trading contact info & I'll tell you the story. You'll wanna barf.

Oh yeah, & I hate your friend with the Princeton. You I just can't stay mad at.

I kinda hate my friend with the Princeton lately, but not because of the Princeton. We really had a falling out and I'm not even sure over what. For a guy who has found countless guitars and amps in the trash and inherited a free house he can be pretty short tempered.

Don't hate me for the Plexi. It served me well and all, but it was so long ago that I got it that $600 was not THAT far below market value for a late period Plexi front.

I get you want PM'ing, but I don't follow the rest.

So is Mason Hoberg going to be doing all the new articles?

Took a look at the articles and was sorely dissapointed by this addition. I don't see why he can't just finish the article, then publish it.

I think now is a good time to respawn this thread. Omit all the suggestions that have already been taken into consideration or worked on and make post #1 a list of issues or concerns that have not been issued yet. I think this will cut down on posts to this section perhaps. But then again, I guess it adds traffic :)

CCESI Thread v2.0!

It's been suggested before in this very thread. I think it was Lex... Lux... ?

Anyways, ignoring you're intoxicated example, I agree that private messaging is a good idea. Probably a good idea because the last and only time I needed private messaging was a trade between Jim and I. I'd be hesitatant to drop personal information on a forum.

Don't think too much of it. No one died, text is deleted, and only tel_nobody was capable of reaming you for something that small.

Speaking of, I don't think we've formally met! Narcist, who does not frequent the Hello thread very much because everyone beats me there on replying. Pleasure to have you here.

Also, it's about time we had somebody new with extensive musical knowledge.

thanks.... now that you disrespected me on the forum you can pay me a few extra hundred bucks for the ac4 since I cut you the buddy rate... since we're not buddies and I'm chopped liver

oh, you said 'new' so nevermind, but shit I felt really bad about myself for a sec... EB is one of the few pillars of my self esteem
