FENDER STROCASTER VS TELECASTER

I personal prefer the design of the stratocaster but some people seem to like the telecaster

Having said that, I bought a Strat as my first guitar.

GEAR:
  • EarthQuaker Devices Westwood
  • Fender '57 Custom Champ
  • Fender American Original '50s Telecaster

That is true the squire stratocaster is a great starter it is also the type of guitar we think of when we think of guitars.

For the longest time I have liked Teles a WHOLE LOT more than Strats. But lately I'm coming around, I dig the Dave Murray Strat, and I wouldn't turn down an olympic white vintage Strat.

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

I was a strat man for decades, but I came around to the tele while recording an album with a nice Deluxe USA model available for some rhythm work and then started buying piles of them... I wound up with 2 in the end and I only have 1 strat left, so what's that tell you? But seriously, it depends what kinda music I'm playing.... plus the strat is a vastly superior mod platform to the tele.On the other hand, a well made tele is so tuning stable and just so satisfying out of the box. Who could pick?

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I think Teles are ugly, but I like their tone a whole lot more for contemporary/U2 sounding stuff.

the tele has a certain boat paddle chic that's not for everyone!

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

In my opinion I think telecasters shape are ugly and prefer the shape of a stratocaster as well.

I can only go on look since I have never played a Tele (though I have heard many played). My vote would be for the Stratocastor.

Interesting though as I have a 5 position pick-up switch on my Strat and when I move it to the second position up from the bridge, it sounds like a Tele to me. But like someone said earlier....why not "both".

First guitar: telecaster

Second guitar: stratocaster

Still have both. Still use both. Have loved both and treated both like crap. These guitars survive

GEAR:
  • Fender MIJ Jazzmaster JM62
  • Epiphone Dot
  • Electro-Harmonix Sovtek "Green Russian" Big Muff Pi V7C

For the longest time, I used to use a Squier Bullet Telecaster. I have to say, it was quite a nice guitar. It's the type that even when you have a really nice expensive guitar, you still fond yourself coming back to the old Tele for some reason.

I thought Strats were ugly. No odea why. You guys are right. I just need a Fender with Wide Range 'buckers, a Jazzy, a Tele, and eventually, some funky Strat.

all fender guitars 'make me go a big rubbery one' (in the words of chuck pahliunik)

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

Well, I guess I am not as alone as I thought. I can't stand the aesthetic of the telecaster--although I will make a small exception for the semi-hollow "thin-line" version. That one is so pretty that I can almost deal with the f-upped headstock...

As many others, my first guitar was a Strat. Right now my main axe is a Telecaster and I'm super fine with that. I don't need the extra features of the Strat, a nice Tele is about simplicity to me: you grab the guitar, then you pick the mic position and that's it, gorgeous sound achieved.

GEAR:
  • Fender American Standard Telecaster
  • Vox AC30CC1 1x12 Custom Classic Combo
  • Strymon TimeLine

That one is so pretty that I can almost deal with the f-upped headstock...

yo, please don't be spamming... if you really want to promote this website's acoustic guitar reviews then at least put it in an appropriate thread

Ladies and gentlemen, our first bot!

Golf clap

I was giving 'her' the benefit of the doubt about being a human, but the user picture of a scantily clad teenaged girl does tend to support your bot theory

however this is not the 1st one.... we got hit with a couple bots shilling penis pills on the general forum last year

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

Really!? Must've been before me. That sounds pretty funny to be honest. I remember an older forum being filled with bots until we found out an actual user was spamming gay porn everywhere. Pretty sure the site went downwards within a year or so. That being said, maybe a captcha would be useful soon.

Also, "she" has nothing on her EquipBoard. Empty. Very much convinced she's a bot. If not, that's her fault.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt anymore as I mouthed off to enough members last years LOL I'm trying to be nicer to people who maybe inadvertantly disrespect our behavioral guidelines when they're new. But another bot like post and I'll ban 'her' from the forum.

so, if 'you' are reading this because you're actually a person, don't spam the forum again, girly...

anyway, I need to draw a picture of a strat fighting a tele like a couple of anthropomorphized guitar pugilists and upload it for this thread
