A great fuzz with an absolutely insane second mode
I've been playing with this pedal as the first in my chain for a couple of months now and I can't for the life of me take it off my board. I've set the internal volume trim to about 1 o'clock and dialed back the trim for the "Evil" mode to about 11 just to have a bit more control over the oscillation when I roll the volume back a bit. I stack the fuzz with a 90s DS-1 and use that with the gain rolled off as sort of an external tone shaper and boost for the fuzz. I can't say enough good things about the tone right out of the box, but it's a very bright mid/high-forward fuzz with a lot of fun breakup at stock settings with your guitar at full volume. Think Dinosaur Jr, Mudhoney, or Jack White. As you roll your guitars volume knob back, the Fuzzhausen becomes extremely sensitive and at about half volume, it becomes more of a subtle fuzz that becomes extremely pick responsive. "Very Evil" mode is only even mildly tameable at full volume, as you have to fight against the feedback of your signal for weird octave pitches and oscillation. Rolling your volume down surrenders your signal completely to the Fuzzhausen and there's no escaping that world. Just dial-up internet sounds until your ears bleed. It's amazing. Buy this pedal or be cursed.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Internal trim pots set at 1 (output trim) and 11 ("evil" trim)
