vortex3's Music Gear Setup
EC-1000 came stock with Duncan SH4 and SH1 pickups as opposed to their usual EMG 81/60 set. Also, I picked up the Dean for the first time in literal MONTHS recently and the thing was still in tune. All hail the Kahler bridge.

Alright...
I'm almost 100% sure I would have a different impression of this guitar if it were new. I got mine used. It became obvious quickly that, while there weren't too many scratches or paint chips, it was HEAVILY used. The tremolo system was shot to hell, and even the locking tuners didn't keep it in tune for long (even though I put new strings on it). I thought it was going out of tune just because I was being a little aggressive with the whammy bar initially, but soon came to the conclusion that it was probably because of the instrument's age and previous owner. Whoever owned this thing before me REALLY liked it. In terms of playability and feel, however, this guitar is great. It's everything one could possibly want in a seven-string. My fingers glide across the fretboard with ease, and bending is not hard at all on this guitar. Just make sure, if you want to buy one of these, that you get it new or newer, because mine takes ten minutes to tune and stays in tune for less time than even that.
