Boldest pick: BOSS VE-1 Vocal Echo
Only 1 pro artist on Equipboard owns it, but it's ranked #21 in Vocal Effects Processors.
Korg DT-10 Digital Pedal Tuner
Avg price: $19.46
A life long tank
This pedal has been on my board and in my life since 2008, and I cannot see myself replacing it any time soon. It just works great! Sure the new Peterson tuners are more accurate at 0.1 cents over 1 cent, but human hearing is limited to 2 cents, and guitars are imprecise instruments by nature, so I’m good.
Avg price: $704.47
Immense!
This pedal is incredible! Running a bi/amp bass rig creates exactly the monster tones I’ve been searching for all year!
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Split the signal at 144Hz. The lows are unprocessed, on path A skipping everything until the merge. Path B goes through a Clawthorn Drive into an Orange AD200 bass amp, 8x10 cab. Merge, mix, and go through a compressor .
Harmonizer & Octave Effects Pedals

Saves me carting another bass
I only need to detune half a step-down, so this pedal does the job. Maybe lower driving is worse, but frankly, I will never have a problem if it does. However, the tone is compromised so it's a poor solution.
Compared to the Helix’s Simple Pitch, the drip has a slower response and introduces more artefacts to the sound. Because of that I always prefer the simple pitch. However, i keep the drop on my backup board as it works, but needs a serious update.
Avg price: $197.56
This is great!
A very transparent pedal as it makes the bass into more of a solid wall of sound but without changing the tonal shift much at all. That may not be for everyone, and at times I wish I had a different compressor. It’s not bad, far from it, but it’s a different style. Overall I really like it. I would love this pedal on my lows then have something more interesting like the custard factory on my highs, but that’s overkill for my bar gig lifestyle. I love led meter so whatever bass I plug in (from vintage to active) works with the rest of my rig. To this end, I have my tuner after my compressor so I can mute my signal, pedal on a note, and adjust the input for the upcoming song fast.
However, I shifted up to the Darkglass Hyper Luminal, which does a better job at making a thick/ wall of sound feel and adds an interesting saturation with the Bus compression. I also prefer compressors that have a character to them. The MXR is incredibly transparent, which is fantastic in its own way, but not for me
Preferred Settings + Usage:
- Release: Full
- Attack: 9’ o clock or 3’ o clock depending on what I’m playing
- Input: make meter to -5 dB
- Ouput: make unity to volume off
Fender Engine Room LVL5 Power Supply
Avg price: $156.44
Solid and works
This power supply just works. It comes with a silly amount of connections so you’ll always be able to power every pedal.
Having 500 mA per socket is great as it powers pretty much every pedal on current.
The downside is no 18v socket.
EBS PG – Premium Gold Flat Patch Cables
Avg price: $14.17
Excellent cables!
These are the best patch cables I’ve ever used. Great construction, great feel, low profile, affordable, and saves space. Maybe the gold coating does something, maybe there is a tone difference, I don’t know. I do know that these are the only cables I use!
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Plugged in
Avg price: $185.76
Subtle but works
This pedal is subtler but does what you think it would. The reverbs are pretty great and usable. The build quality is OK, could be better/ metal. But the correction is the best feature because it always sounds natural.
This pedal is a gentle voice sweetener instead of drastic auto tune. It’s my always on vocal pedal.
