Born with philosophy of developing high-quality DSP-based audio products at an affordable price, DigiTech got its start at the beginning of the digital audio revolution in 1984. DigiTech has gone on to pioneer many innovations in the music industry. In its first couple of years on the market, it blazed many new trails creating entirely new product categories such as the first multi-effects (DSP-128), looper/delay pedals (PDS-1002 and PDS-8000), and vocal harmony processors (VHM-5). In 1988 DigiTech delivered the Whammy Pedal, the pedal that completely revolutionized pitch shifting for guitar. The Whammy has been named as one of the top 5 most important guitar effects of all time. It can be heard on countless albums and helped solidify the DigiTech brand as a leader in the industry.

Some of DigiTech’s most iconic products include the Whammy pedal (known for its pitch-shifting capabilities) and the RP series of multi-effects processors, which provide a wide range of effects and amp simulations. The company has also produced notable products such as the DFX series, the JamMan loopers, and the Metal Master distortion pedal, all of which have been widely used in both professional and amateur music settings.

DigiTech’s products are popular for their affordability, versatility, and ease of use, making them a favorite among musicians looking for high-quality effects at accessible prices. Today, DigiTech remains a respected name in the music technology industry, known for its innovative digital signal processing and reliable, user-friendly designs.

DigiTech has 219 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Multi Effects Pedals, Effects Processors, and Harmonizer & Octave Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 1244 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Pop, and Electronic. Notable users include Bootsy Collins, Nick Reinhart, and Mylets.
