D'oh! Almost forgot this important part of my arsenal--my Curt Mangan "Smoot Custom" strings! About 14 years or so ago I heard through our local music store that anyone could create their own custom string sets, so I signed up and have been a Mangan fan ever since! If memory serves, Curt used to work for either Ernie Ball or GHS, so you know the man knows his strings. In my younger days I used to think nothing lasted longer than D'Addarios, but boy, how I was wrong. I've had way fewer premature breakage issues with Mangans than with any other strings I've used before. Check 'em out if you get a chance!
