you think it's the fretboard or differences in the wood selection for the body that imparts that extra dryness?

Thanks. I “think” it is the maple fretboard on the blue one. They have the same pickups on them. I have also had the necks off of them and weighed the bodies. They are within two ounces of one another. I don’t think that small amount would make a noticeable difference. That’s a great observation, btw.
