Apple iPod Classic review: The iPod that holds it all - CNET

cnet.com

The Apple iPod Classic, with its massive 160GB storage, remains a nostalgic powerhouse for music lovers craving their entire collection on the go. Offering a solid design and intuitive interface, it shines in storage capacity and battery life. However, its dated plastic screen, limited EQ controls, and reliance solely on iTunes for media transfer reveal its age in a cloud-driven world. While lacking modern features like apps or touchscreens, it still holds a special place for those attached to the iconic click-wheel design. The iPod Classic is a solid, if somewhat antiquated, choice for music purists.

Apple iPod classic review: Apple iPod classic - CNET

cnet.com

Apple's iPod Classic impresses with vast storage options and exceptional sound quality, making it a must-have for serious music and video enthusiasts. With capacities up to 160GB, its massive space accommodates lossless audio and extensive media libraries. The new Cover Flow interface adds a visually engaging navigation experience, and the audio quality benefits from updated chips, offering clearer sound. However, the sluggish main menu and dependency on iTunes for navigation and updates could frustrate some users. Despite minor lag and some design drawbacks, the iPod Classic is a robust media hub for those prioritizing storage and sound over portability.

The Ultimate Portable Music Library

160GB of lossless audio, all contained within a device that easily fits inside your pocket - that would be an incredible idea in the 20th century, but it became a reality in the 21st century! Unfortunately, Apple Inc. has now discontinued the iPod Classic, but this product continues to service a relevant niche within the music industry. I regularly listen to my iPod for pleasure and for work. The navigation system is ageing, and the sound quality could be increased, but the product as it exists today remains extremely powerful and extremely useful.

Essential...

When the apocalypse comes, the only things that will survive are the cockroaches and iPod Classics. Absolutely indestructible.

xaqary

I'll never surrender it.

I'll never surrender it. Had it modded with a SSD drive.

kyrferg

Any info on how you had it modded?

xaqary

Kinda... I actually went to see if the old failing hard drive could be replaced at a local shop. If you have the right model they can just pop in a solid-state drive. From what I understand it's fairly common.

Player Rules

Apple decided to discontinue about this beast but finally I found one. 160 GB is really rocks.

jimmy

Apple should have never discontinued this product! I have two! I love the iPod!

seducsyn

Yeah it is. Actually they should think out of the re-produce again.
