Value and pricing

  • Suggestions to negotiate the T6i bundle price to $300 reflect the camera's age and market value, with newer options offering better features for slightly more.

    Source
  • The Canon T6i with a 75-300mm lens and accessories is seen as overpriced at $400; similar bundles sold for this price in 2017.

    Source
  • Investing in higher-quality lenses rather than upgrading the camera body often results in more noticeable improvements in image quality.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM is highlighted as a budget-friendly option for those seeking a wide-angle lens without breaking the bank.

    Source
  • The Canon EOS 70D or 77D are recommended as better DSLR alternatives, offering a more professional build and features compared to the T6i.

    Source
  • The Canon 75-300mm lens is often criticized for poor optical quality compared to the 55-250mm IS STM, which is lighter and provides better image quality.

    Source
  • The Canon R50 offers better autofocus capabilities and lighter weight than the T6i, making it a potential alternative within a similar price range.

    Source

User experience

  • For handheld telephoto use, proper technique like holding the camera like a rifle is crucial to reduce shake and improve image quality.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The Sigma EF 18-35mm f/1.8 is ideal for expanding the wide-angle capabilities beyond the standard 18-55mm kit lens.

    Source
  • The Rebel T6i lacks advanced autofocus and image stabilization features found in newer mirrorless models, which can be beneficial for fast action or low light conditions.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Using an 18-55mm lens at 18mm with f/8-f/16 on a tripod is effective for landscape photography, providing good results without additional lens purchases.

    Source
  • The 75-300mm lens is favored by some for its affordability and utility, despite criticisms, showing variability in user satisfaction.

    Source
  • The Canon T6i is still adequate for landscape and wildlife photography if paired with a telephoto lens like the EF-S 55-250mm IS STM.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • The Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8 PRO DX is praised for its ultrawide range, offering more dramatic shots when foreground interest is included.

    Source
  • Upgrading from the 75-300mm lens to the 55-250mm IS STM is often recommended for noticeable improvements in image quality and usability.

    Source
  • The Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens is recommended for better image quality and low-light performance, though it offers a limited field of view compared to zoom lenses.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • A telephoto lens, spare battery, and compact camera case are essential accessories for travel and nature photography with the T6i.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i Review: Digital Photography Review

dpreview.com

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i offers a solid entry into the DSLR world with improvements like a 24.2MP sensor and 19-point all cross-type AF system. However, its autofocus struggles with moving subjects in live view, and the dynamic range is not up to par with competitors. While it produces high-quality images and has a user-friendly interface, it lacks some modern features like continuous AF in live view and better subject tracking. The T6i is a decent option for beginners with Canon lenses, but those seeking advanced autofocus capabilities might consider alternatives.

Canon T6i Review - Conclusion

imaging-resource.com

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i impresses with its 24-megapixel sensor, offering a significant resolution boost and good image quality, though images can appear soft without post-processing. High ISO performance is commendable, and the autofocus system is fast and reliable, even in low light. However, the camera's burst speed and RAW buffer are underwhelming for action shots. Video capabilities are decent but lack 60fps support. Despite these drawbacks, the T6i is a solid entry-level DSLR with useful upgrades over its predecessor, making it a well-rounded choice for beginners. Its ergonomic design and built-in Wi-Fi add to its appeal.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i/750D review: Canon's family-friendly T6i should get the job done - CNET

cnet.com

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i is a reliable DSLR for family photography, offering improved performance and a streamlined design over its predecessors. While it handles well in good lighting, its image quality and autofocus struggle in low light, and it falls short compared to competitors like the Nikon D5500. With added Wi-Fi connectivity and faster operation, it remains a crowd-pleaser for casual users. However, if photo quality is a priority, you might notice its limitations. Overall, it's a solid choice for non-picky photographers, but not the best in its class.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i / 750D Review

the-digital-picture.com

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i impresses as a feature-packed DSLR offering professional-grade image quality in a lightweight, affordable package. Its highlights include a new 24.2 MP sensor, built-in Wi-Fi, and a versatile 19-point AF system. The T6i shines in resolution, ease of use, and value for money, making it a top choice for beginners and enthusiasts. However, its limited buffer depth and slower continuous shooting rate might not satisfy action photographers. Despite these minor drawbacks, the T6i stands out as an excellent entry-level DSLR that delivers more "bang for your buck" than its predecessors.

good pictures, that's about it

imma keep this breif, and jsut list what i don't like about it, in a camera pov, but if you wanna know how the audio sounds with somethign like a rode go mic, it's solid

pictures are solid, but live feed is terrible with a hud you can't turn off feels very cheap, dispite being 600$+ touchscreen ui can be very frustrating at times if shooting in anythign past M quality, it will lock up and stop taking pics
