Not bad at all!!
Simple and with a good enough tone (depending on what effects you use). I like how it makes my Korg AX3000G's distortion sound. For 18watts, you can't go wrong gigging with this amp, except that it is pretty big and bulky. Does pretty well in live gig situations.
WOW!! Awesome tone for a solid state!!
I bought a pretty beat up one used at a pawnshop, thinking it was a tube amp. Lo and behold, after further inspection, I found out to my surprise that it was a solid state. At first I thought that I was being ripped off as I had thought that it was a tube amp (although the price was not so bad). However, I was so impressed with it's tone and it dawned on me that I would get the sound of a tube amp without worrying about blown out tubes and such that I decided to keep it. It's now become one of my favorite combo amps.
Had mine going on 15 years (surprisingly)
Not bad for the price I paid ($100.00). Pretty durable and well built. Sound quality not that great, but it somehow turned a few heads of other guitar players even when using a cheap solid state amp. At one battle of the bands I recently participated in, a couple of guitar players from the other bands ran up to see what type of effects I used and were quite surprised to see that I could get that type of a sound from something as small and cheap as this. I seem to be making it my main gigging multi-effects hooked up with a Soul Food overdrive from Electro Harmonix. It does the job well and doesn't hurt my back. I only wish you could combine the reverb and delay for some of the settings, but somehow, that feature was its limitation. Otherwise, a great bang for your buck.

Great sounding guitar even with stock pickups. I believe these pickups are lace sensor prototypes, but I'm not 100% sure. I also do not like the "free flight" tremolo/vibrato system, as it tends to get the strings out of tune. However, the awesome guitar tone alone (especially with it's active single coils) makes it worth the 4 stars. Oh, did I mention that I also hate having to change batteries?
Awesome despite its age.
Although it doesn't have a built in tuner or an expression pedal, it has some of the most awesome-est sounds I've ever heard from a floor based multi-effects unit. After going through other multi-effects and then going back to the RP-1, I get that "WOW factor" type of feeling. Too bad they don't make em like they used to. If it had a built in tuner as well as an expression pedal, I would give it a 5 star.
Not bad but not great either.
Takes a while to really learn how to program it. I nearly gave up and almost sold it. However, once you got it down to right where you want it (the sweet spot), it isn't so bad after all, especially when hooked up to a tube amp. I hate the auto arpeggio function as well as the keyboard effects, as it does't track too well. Distortion's ok. I especially like the cross delay function. That's pretty cool.
