A Relic That Fulfills Its Function

At its time, it was one of the best and most complete in terms of multi-effects pedals. Now it's a bit outdated but still does its job. The distortions are not very faithful to what they try to emulate, but if you want to use it for clean sounds, I recommend it. However, if you want to add a distortion, I would recommend that you use it along with an individual pedal. It is very comfortable to use if you already have the effects set up, but it will be very tedious for you to get used to configuring the banks, let alone if you want to modify any. It lacks a looper, one of the reasons why it is outdated.

Great

The ESS effects and the stepper function can create sounds impossibles to get in other devices in the same category.

Not bad but not great either.

Takes a while to really learn how to program it. I nearly gave up and almost sold it. However, once you got it down to right where you want it (the sweet spot), it isn't so bad after all, especially when hooked up to a tube amp. I hate the auto arpeggio function as well as the keyboard effects, as it does't track too well. Distortion's ok. I especially like the cross delay function. That's pretty cool.

Good

The ESS function is the selling point of this unit for me. While the range of other fx is not bad, it doesn't have any wow factors over other multi-fx units i have used. It would be a lot better if it had a loop function
