Awesome despite its age.
Although it doesn't have a built in tuner or an expression pedal, it has some of the most awesome-est sounds I've ever heard from a floor based multi-effects unit. After going through other multi-effects and then going back to the RP-1, I get that "WOW factor" type of feeling. Too bad they don't make em like they used to. If it had a built in tuner as well as an expression pedal, I would give it a 5 star.

Nice gain tone. Only this starts getting bored after a while.
My first multi-effect pedal. Nice gain tone. Only this starts getting bored after a while. The clean sound of your guitar does not get through properly. So that every guitar sounds the same.

It's okay...
Bought it used for $20 when I was first starting out. Not the most user friendly for a 13-year-old. Never could get any really good sounds out of it, just a lot of okay so-so sounds. Wish I would've kept it for some My Bloody Valentine reverbs.

One of Hayes' first pieces of gear, according to 2016 interview with Harman.
The very first piece of gear I saved up for at 16 was a DigiTech RP1. I loved it and, if I remember correctly, it had a headphone jack, so you didn’t need an amp, and I’d be up all night swimming in that!
