Hi,
I'm currently planning my pedalboard, and I need some of your guys help. I would use this set up for rock 1. I can't decide if I want the Strymon Sunset or the T-rex Moller II. Both similar pedals, just wanted your opinions on them 2. Volume pedal? Is it worth it for things like swells, and adjusting? Or is it mostly unhelpful? 3. Wah? It seems to be one of those pedals you really need it when you need it, but it's mostly unhelpful. Is it worth having on the board for interetsing solos + incase I need it? Bear in mind I have other modulation on more board.
Cool thanks

Also with regards to pedals for jazz I'm thinking: Guitar-Tuner-Compressor?-Light drive/boost?-Chorus or Uni-vibe?(we are doing what a wonderful world)-Amp
Does that sound about right?
Thanks for all the help guys- I really love this website!!

haha New Zealand NOT Australia Jim!!! Thanks for the help, I have a pretty good idea about jazz guitars now! Heres what I've got so far (sorry theres lots, and some of them are 'chinese crapfest): Pre-95 335 Yamaha Semi-hollow http://dangelicoguitars.com/guitars/premier-series/premier-dc/#DAPDCSWHCTCB https://dangelicoguitars.com/guitars/premier-series/premier-exl-1/#DAPEXL1SBKCT http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Electrics/Archtop/Sheraton-II-PRO.aspx http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Archtop/Ltd-Ed-Wildkat-KOA.aspx http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Archtop/ES-339-PRO.aspx http://shop.fender.com/en/intl/0302000500.html#prefn1=refinement-body-shape&prefv1=Jazzmaster%7CJaguar&start=1 http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/center-block/g2622-streamliner-center-block-with-v-stoptail-broadtron-pickups-walnut-stain http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/center-block/g2655-streamliner-center-block-jr-with-v-stoptail-broadtron-pickups-torino-green http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/center-block/g2622t-streamliner-center-block-with-bigsby-broadtron-pickups-flagstaff-sunset http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/center-block/g2655t-streamliner-center-block-jr-with-bigsby-broadtron-pickups-black

Wow you really don't like Chinese guitars Jim!!! So what I'm getting is For lead big band, a semi-hollow, with a good clean amp A few questions, could lower range Gretsch and Hofner be good, as I looked at their price and they seemed okay? Also a High end Squier or low end Fender Tele? It seems to be okay at Jazz and really good at blues?
Thanks for the help guys!

Awesome thanks. Do you think that they would be able to play the blues stuff we do? Our most sort of rocky blues song is probably sweet home chicago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0zyuc_2UVg

Hi,
I've joined my school big band where we play blues and jazz. I want a guitar for this, but I don't really know much about jazzey guitars. My price range is probably about $600 to $900 USD. Any suggestions for a guitar that would play well?
Thanks

Playing is going good, I've played a few small shows. I haven't really got any new stuff except for my DD-7 which I why I got a new pedalboard. I've stuck with my little Hiwatt for an amp tho :)

Hi, I am still here :) Thanks for the help, I got the pedaltrain which is great, however I got the hard case and it's HUGE!!! We struggled to find a place to put it! The board is great, I love having my power supply under my board, and I like the wires going under the board- looks much tidier.

Haha okay, atm I don't have that many pedals (look on my page if you want to see) so the board looks kind of empty, but I have a plan of what I want to buy. I have a feeling that space will fill up pretty quickly...

Thanks, but I already got the classic pro. I looks goodelicious though!

Awesome, thanks so much for your help guys, just one final question, the hard case is 12kg which costs lot's to ship and is a bit of a pain, but is it worth it over the soft case? I take my board out about once a week but only in the back of a car so it doesn't get knocked around much.

Which one do you find ugly? There's actually 3 there it's just the addresses seemed to be merged. I like the idea of two boards, but I think it may be a pain taking boards places etc

Hi guys,
I have currently been looking a pedalboards as I have run out of space on mine. I have a few choices and I would love some advice on which one to get. Here are my current ideas:

It's a small band... Thanks for the help! I'll start saving for an Old Sheraton
9yover 9 years ago
Ah! Thanks, so the extra price is worth it for a Shearton? I was also wondering, I know like nobody uses Jazzmasters for Jazz, but would it be okay? Because I won't one of them as well and a Squier Jazzmasters is cheaper than a Sheraton dot.
Also the Jazz band is only 4 or 5 brass instruments, so would my 10 watt Hiwatt be enough?

Cool thanks! I hear it can be hard to learn the styles so I may have some questions at some point.
I had a look at my nearest music store and I found a really nice looking epiphone 339 and is was only $800NZD (I live in New Zealand)

Hi,
People at my school have convinced me to join the 'Jazz band' Just wondering what kind of effects/amps/guitar are normal
9yover 9 years ago
They don't sell them anywhere near my house unfortunately, but if one pops up I will give it a go

Hi,
I kinda want this Laney Cub 12, but I also need an acoustic guitar amp. I can't really afford both, so I was wondering if it would sound okay if my acoustic guitar ran through the Laney. I doesn't need to sound great...
Thanks

Cool thanks for the help. I will head down to the music store and try a few pedals!

Actually, on the same topic, I am weighing up a Uni-vibe or the Phasor. I could as you say make it my own but I still kind of want one of those effects cause they sound cool. They are obviously two completely different effects, and I just have no idea which one to buy
10yalmost 10 years ago
Cool thanks, I was wondering if I could get away with not getting a phasor to play: Shine on you crazy diamond
10yalmost 10 years ago
Hi,
Might sound like a dumb question, but if I rocked my wah pedal back and forth would it sound like a phaser? If not why/
Thanks!
