Both cymbals have several holes in them to add to the tone of the cymbals. According to matt, the cymbal sounds very stacato when fasened tightly. this makes the note very short. when fassened looser it sounds fater and will resonate more

In this video for Guitar Center, Matt shows off his signature Vic Firth sticks. He says that the sticks are a combination of vic firth's 55a and budy rich sticks. the stick is a bit thicker than the typical 55a sticks. The taper of he sticks allow for more choppig around the kit. The stick's tip allows for a greater attack on cymbals. This configuration of stick is perfect for the syle of drumming that Matt has.

I’m so happy these Equilibrium hihats are now released!! It was a lot of work experimenting and refining these hats but I couldn’t be more happy:) They have that papery sound I love to hear when they are open, that have a nice crisp tip attack and a solid chick????I thought these little demos would give you guys an up close and personal look at them. @meinlcymbals
