yeedawg: I saw you guys live a few years ago and hearing Payam's bass tone was a life changing moment for me.

Being a bassist myself, I would love to know what he uses to make his sounds so big!

YoungTheGiantBand: haha thanks ! nothing too crazy to be honest, usually just a fender bass (or my lakland short scale) through an ampeg SVT-VR and an 8x10. a couple pedals here and there that i like using.. dark glass vintage micro tubes, TWA great divide 2.0 for synth bass sounds. play finger style mainly but use a pick for certain songs that call for it. cheers! -p

From YTG: Payam used this bass to record the song “Firelight” on the album Mind Over Matter. Also wrote and recorded songs from the second record on this bass. Mid to late 1950’s Kay 162 Howlin Wolf Bass. All original!

Sold on Reverb.com. This one in particular is labeled "Bass DI".

From YTG: We used these preamps in our LA home studio while we were writing and making demos for our second record, Mind over Matter. We had both Jake and Eric’s guitars, Sameer’s Vox, and bass DI going through these preamps. These preamps are modeled after the API 312A style microphone preamps.

In response to a now deleted question from the same AMA, Doostzadeh stated that the pedal was used for the verse of "Something to Believe In".

i use the TWA great divide 2.0 for the verse of STBI. really dig that pedal. also i love the darkglass vintage microtubes.
