The Andy James Signature AJ6E is based on the Crescent Series carved top models, but with a unique set of options specifically suited to Andy's tastes and playing style. It has the same modern set-through neck design, with the neck set deep into the body, for additional strength, stability and tonal crispness, while utilizing a minimal neck heel for comfortable access high on the fingerboard. The body is alder, which in an attractive, relatively light-weight tone wood, and the neck is a 3-piece Eastern hard rock maple design, which adds addition strength and stability. Like all Custom Shop necks, the dual-action, fully adjustable truss rod helps keep the neck straight and true, and allows you to set the action just the way you like it while dual carbon-fiber rods further strengthen the neck. The fingerboard is ebony, with medium-jumbo 6100 nickel-silver frets.

Back in 2013 while he made a lesson called "How To Get A Good Metal Guitar Tone" for Licklibrary, he using this black EBMM JP6 guitar. But he swapped the EMG pickups in this guitar. 'Cause he said, he is a fan of EMG pickups.
