Chris Poland's Guitars

Poland used to play what seems to be a NJ Series BC Rich Bich back in his Megadeth days. The guitar is all black with the "Choose Deth" stickers above and below the pickups and a "Broken Bones" sticker below the bridge.

As standard for Megadeth until Chris Broderick entered the picture, the second guitarist always had the same brand of guitar as Mustaine did, and Poland was no exception.

Sun Valley, CA (January 13, 2014) -- Schecter Guitar Research debuts the Chris Poland Signature Solo-6 FR Poltergeist for the 2015 Winter NAMM Show, which will be showcased in Schecter’s upstairs Room 210-D. The Poltergeist features a Mahogany body, a set 3-piece Set-Neck with Ultra Access, Ebony fingerboard, 24 X-Jumbo Frets, 24.625” scale length, and glow in the dark side dot inlays. It also includes the Schecter Exclusive Floyd Rose 1500 Series Bridge which features stainless steel parts, new push-in arm, and knife points that are re-tooled for better tuning and smoother tremolo play. The Chris Poland Signature Solo-6 FR Poltergeist also features Schecter’s own USA Pasadena Plus pick-ups that are hand-made in Schecter’s very own custom shop; which adds a slight upper-mid musical bump with just enough output to drive the front end of your amp. The Pasadena Plus pick-ups are suited for everything from Classic Rock to full blown metal … and it does indeed clean up in an 'Indie' sort of way when split.

In his interview with Vintage Guitar, he said "Mostly a Yamaha SBG Santana-style guitar with a Floyd tremolo. At the time, it had EMGs, and sounded great. I had my system set up for those pickups. But now I’m using Yamaha pickups, which are basically PAF copies." Furthermore he can be seen in several live videos with his group OHM playing an SBG style guitar with a tremolo, for example in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgrACYkXFqY performing OHM's "Peanut Buddha"
