Chuck Dukowski

Chuck Dukowski has been playing a Deluxe Active Jazz Bass® V (Five String) in Candy Apple Red for 12 to 13 years. He appreciates the extra string for its versatility during jams, especially when collaborating with horn sections or adapting to Milo's down tuning without needing to re-tune for drop D. A user-uploaded photo on BlogSpot shows him with this bass.

"I have been dabbling with some Sioux pedals, distortion and flange mostly, but I have not integrated them into my live music. I’d like to, but not yet."

Chuck Dukowski has been experimenting with various Sioux pedals, including distortion and flange effects, although he hasn't yet incorporated them into his live performances. This is evidenced by a user-uploaded photo from Siouxguitars.

Chuck Dukowski played a Peavey T-40 bass after his time with Black Flag, as confirmed on TalkBass.

"I play the same amp I’ve played for a long time now. The heart of it is an Alembic preamp that I run into a DBX 160x compressor. I can plug it into any power amp and speaker combo and usually get good results."

During Black Flag’s peak, in specifically the Rollins era of the early 80s, Chuck played 2 differently colored Fender Precisions. In these photos, Chuck Dukowski is shown playing his black Fender Precision Bass with white pickups at the 20 Grand Club in Daytona Beach, Florida on May 22, 1982.
