Dave Shepherd's Gear
When I saw him in September of 2016 it appeared that the strap was held on with duct tape and the pickup switch is completely covered up. The guitar is decorated with silver sharpie and says "Stay Heavy". In this video from March earlier the same year, it looks like Dave was playing the same guitar.
"The Les Pauls are pretty much the only guitars I play with as far as Weedeater goes", Dave Shepherd in Fret12 Q&A video
In this video + photo (and pretty much every Weedeater live video) you can see a big phat Marshall stack, with what looks like an old plexi head thats white and covered in stickers placed on top. Plus his tone just screams plexi.
Not entirely sure if he used this amp on demos, but its for sure used on recordings and 100% used in almost ALL live performances seen of them. Few times he hasn't used it was probably due to problems like tubes going out and what not.
In this linked photo you can clearly see two white 4x12's under his Marshall. One is a Marshall 35th Anniversary 4x12 that came with his 1959SLP and the other is a 1980s 20th Anniversary 4x12
On September 5, 2023, in Buffalo, New York, Weedeater shared an Instagram post featuring Dave Shepherd using an Electro-Harmonix "Black Russian" Big Muff Pi V8. The pedal was lent to him by a fan.
