Eddie Vedder's Music Accessories
not content with just modifying guitars, he also has his straps modded with 1" holes punched along their length. Vedder saw that hero Pete Townshend used to have straps like this and had to have one. one positive byproduct: the holes make the strap have a nice stretch to them.
The Fretboard Journal #24
In this live version of "Wishlist" from a 2010 Pearl Jam performance, we see Vedder play the song's guitar solo using an eBow.
Note the 1? holes added to the guitar straps, which pay tribute to Vedder’s hero Pete Townshend. They also have a practical purpose: they give the straps a nice stretch when playing hard.
Here's a photo from the Paramount Theatre in 1994, where Eddie is using the Dimarzio Cliplock strap. I believe it's a 2" model, instead of the 3" model that is submitted. Apologies. I believe this was his main strap from 1992-1994. In 1995 he switched to a simpler nylon strap, without any quick release functions. He used that up until about 1997-1999.
*He did still use the Dimarzio Cliplock strap throughout Single Video Theory, which was 1997.
In the photo, the guitar picks of Pearl Jam members are clearly visible, with names written on them. Eddie Vedder's pick is identified as a Dunlop Tortex Standard 0.60mm, which is orange.
