Haydock often favored a Bass VI; he’s seen playing an early three-switch model in 1963 U.K. film It’s All Over Town as the Hollies perform “Now’s the Time.”
Sometime around 1963-1964, Eric Haydock used the Gibson Thunderbird during certain performances. It is unknown whether or not he used the Thunderbird on recordings, but he definitely used the Thunderbird in several live/mimed performances. Some include Yes I Will, and many more. It is unknown whether it is a lent instrument or a short-lived purchase. He would hold on to the Thunderbird until his departure from the band.
