Euronymous' Amplifiers

Euronymous used to use a 1976 or 1977 Marshall Model 1987 JMP MK II 50-watt amp head. The white threading, the switches, and the chrome plated jacks are clear giveaways. The 1976 and 1977 Marshall Model 1987 JMP MK II amps had white threading, plastic swtiches and the they had transparent red power switch which also doubled up as the indicator. The chrome plated jacks are another giveaway that the amp he uses is a 1976 or 1977 model, it's becasue all the JMP models made post-1977 had black input jacks. If you see closely, you'll also notice that Euronymous's amp was modified with the master volume mod.

The 70's era Marshall 1960BX 4x12" cabinets as used by Euronymous were loaded with the Celestion G12M T1221 Blackback speakers instead of the G12M Greenback speakers. Those Blackback speakers used to use new 1777 Kurt Mueller cones instead of the old 102 003 Pulsonic cones. These Celestion G12M T1221 Blackback speakers had more upper mids and treble than the old Greenback speakers.
