Mayhem is a seminal Norwegian black metal band, recognized for their influential role in shaping the extreme metal scene. Formed in 1984 in Oslo, the group has undergone numerous lineup changes, with its current members including founding bassist Necrobutcher (Jørn Stubberud), drummer Hellhammer (Jan Axel Blomberg), iconic vocalist Attila Csihar, and guitarists Teloch (Morten Bergeton Iversen) and Ghul (Charles Hedger). Mayhem's music embodies the raw, chaotic essence of black metal, blending aggressive riffs, haunting atmospheres, and relentless drumming.
