Gerry Marsden's Gear
In this performance at The Ed Sullivan Show in 1965, Gerry Marsden plays his 1964 Rickenbacker 360/12 in fireglo finish. Note that this was before the sides of the 360 got rounded.
In one of music gear writer Andy Babiuk's books, he mentions that Brian Epstein ordered the 360/12 for Gerry, "identical to George's" while in New York with The Beatles in February 1964. Gerry's guitar would therefore have been one of the first five 12-stringed Rickenbackers' made.
In this photo of Gerry and the Pacemakers performing at the world famous Cavern Club, Gerry is seen using a Fender Stratocaster.
In this 1963 appearance in Swedish TV (Drop In), Gerry Marsden plays a sunburst Gibson ES-335 with a Bigsby bridge. It is clearly seen from 0:30.
In this photograph with the Pacemakers, Gerry is seen holding a Gretsch 6003 acoustic guitar. He used this same guitar in the film "Ferry Cross the Mersey" while performing the title track on a ferry.
In this fantastic live performance at The T.A.M.I. Show in 1964, Gerry Marsden can be seen playing his Gretsch Tennessean in high quality. A good view is at 8:50 right before playing "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying".
In this stock photograph with Joe Brown, Gerry Marsden is seen with a Gibson B-45 12-string guitar. He also used this guitar in the film "Ferry Cross the Mersy".
