Glen Benton's Bass Guitars
In a photo from Basoofka, Glen Benton is seen playing a B.C. Rich Beast Bass, circa 2003.
Glen Benton used a B.C. Rich Custom bass with an "Ant War" graphic, notably the instrument stolen during a show in Bradford, UK, in the 1990s. This connection is highlighted in a Twitter post by LegionsDeath.
In Deicide's early years all the band played BC Rich instruments. Benton used mainly Ironbird basses with humbuckers (one black, as you can see in the video, and one red - there are many pictures of the red one if yuo search on the Internet).
Through out this show Glenn can be seen playing a black Fender Jazz Bass. A good glimpse is at 7:47
I purchased this Bass guitar with a covering letter which was sent by Glen to the original purchaser in 1999/2000. This bass has also been signed by Glen on the back of the headstock
Glen Benton used also a black 4003 (or 4001) Rickembacker. The proof is the (in)famous "When London Burns" recorded live at The Mean Fiddler, London, 29th November 2004 and published by Earache.
In this article it states that Benton has an ESP Phoenix and an ESP Stream.
Glen Benton uses a custom Fender Custom Shop '51 Precision Bass, which was specifically built for him by Javier Cuba. This information is confirmed by a Facebook post from Fender and a Twitter post by Fender.
