Ilan Rubin's Amplifiers

This is a vintage 1966 Gibson GA-15RVT all tube combo amp. Nicknamed "Explorer", this amp is in amazing cosmetic and functional condition. The phase-inverting transformer has been replaced with a new Toneclone. It has some stellar sounding spring reverb and tremolo that cuts as deep and fast as you'd like - both switchable with the included original footswitch (the back of which is missing its cover - does not affect function). Serial: A020653. Clean little Explorer. Black tolex. Vintage Jensen 12". With footswitch. Used on The New Regime recordings.

Ilan Rubin owns a Vox V125 Lead Stack, as documented on Reverb. This amplifier, introduced in a 1981 Vox catalog, is part of a series that emulated the iconic Marshall stack, with its electronics adapted from the AC-120 circuits released in 1973.
