Issei Noro's Amplifiers
Issei Noro has been known to use the Yamaha DG-1000 for many years. It is visible behind him from the beginning of this source video.
In this Youtube video from 1982 at 1:26 Issei Noro can be seen with a yamaha G-100 2x12 Combo.
Issei Noro, the guitarist known for his clean and expressive guitar tones, confirmed in an interview that he used the Yamaha F100-115 amplifier. He stated, "Did you use that with a Yamaha F100-115 amp? Exactly. The F100-115 came with distortion, but I preferred the character of a separate pedal." This was highlighted in a Sound & Equipments Part 1 interview shared by noroism on Instagram.
In the YouTube video “CASIOPEA vs THE SQUARE Live 2003”, Issei Noro can be seen using a Yamaha HC2700 power amplifier as part of his live guitar rack system.
At around 8:24, the camera shows the lower section of Noro’s rack. The bottom rack unit matches the Yamaha HC2700 by its dual analog VU meters, yellow meter illumination, left-side power/indicator section, large channel level controls on the right, and black Yamaha Professional Series rack design.
In the YouTube video “Casiopea 3rd - A・So・Bo Tour 2015 (カシオペア・サード)”, uploaded by T grace, Issei Noro can be seen using a Line 6 POD HD Pro X as part of his live guitar rack system.
At approximately 16:58 into the video, the camera briefly shows Noro’s rack setup on stage. The rack-mounted unit can be identified as a Line 6 POD HD Pro X by its distinctive front panel layout, large blue central display, encoder arrangement, characteristic POD HD series design, and rackmount form factor.
The POD HD Pro X appears to be integrated into Noro’s touring rig during the A・So・Bo Tour 2015 era, likely serving as an amp modeling, effects processing, and signal-routing unit within his rack-based guitar system.
Issei Noro is listed as using a Yamaha PG1 rack preamp starting with Sun Sun in 1986.
The post says Noro sent the Yamaha PG1 directly to the PA, marking his move away from a conventional guitar amp setup for the main front-of-house sound.
A noroism Instagram archive post about Issei Noro’s 1979 setup states that his early signal chain ends into a Polytone Mini-Brute II amplifier. The post describes this as a very simple setup during Casiopea’s early days.
Year: 1979

A noroism Instagram post about Issei Noro’s October 1987 post-Platinum setup states that the overdrive sound came from a Peavey Audition 30, described as a small amplifier bought the day before the recording. The same source notes that it was not used in the later December 1986 Perfect Live 10th Anniversary setup.
