Jay Graydon's Guitars

Jay is pictured on his website jaygraydon.com in the gear section playing a red ES-335 and says on his website, “The guitar is a Gibson 1963 335 that I played for many years. I love that guitar! It needs a fret job real bad but I am hesitant to get the frets replaced since the guitar "feel" will change.”

On his offical website jaygraydon.com, in the gear section Jay says, "This is a MUSIC MAN Ed Van Halen guitar but one of a kind as it has an ebony fingerboard. The rear pickup of this guitar is the best sounding pickup I have ever heard. I think that pickup is used on the MUSIC MAN sports model if supplied with the humbucking style. I used this guitar on the AIRPLAY FOR THE PLANET "Roxann" solo."

Jay Graydon confirms his use of the Gibson 1932 L-5 guitar on his official website, where he states: "I recently bought a 1932 L5 (small body). The high 'E' string is so mid-range fat and the rest of the guitar sounds so sweet!"

On Jay's official website, he is pictured here using his Ibanez Geroge Benson model.

"It is an IBANEZ GEORGE BENSON MODEL. A very good archtop jazz guitar with floating pickups. The lower strings are bright sounding compared to a guitar like a Gibson 175. I really like this guitar and have been playing it for fun when practicing bebop stuff."

On Jay's website, he is seen here using his Gisbon The Paul.

"That guitar is a Les Paul model called "THE PAUL" (I think). I never played Les Paul Models in general as the neck hum does not allow easy playing on upper frets. This guitar sounds big and I strung it up with heavy strings as to play low 5ths for rock stuff."
