Justin Lockey's Guitars
Justin Lockey plays a Fender Telecaster Custom electric guitar in this video of Editors performing the song All Sparks live @ Sziget 2013. Lockey's lead guitar riff carries the song on this performance, which he achieves using his Fender amps (which you can see pretty clearly behind him 0:41 into the video).
You can get a pretty good look at the guitar at several places in the video, like 0:26. It is likely a vintage model, and my best guess on the finish is an aged Butterscotch Blonde. 2:40 shows you the pickup configuration of the Tele, which identifies it as a Tele Custom model. Throughout this song All Sparks, Justin keeps the pickup selector switch in the "up" position.
In this video of Editors performing the song "A Ton Of Love" at Reading Festival 2013, Justin Lockey can be seen playing a Fender American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster Electric Guitar in 3-Color Sunburst with a rosewood fingerboard. Around 0:55 offers a nice view of the guitar.
It´s not an "American Vintage 65" but a "Classic Player". The tailpiece of the Classic Player is closer to the bridge. In this video, you can see him playing a Classic Player.
In this screenshot from the YouTube video of Editors playing live at Southside Festival 2017, Justin Lockey can be seen playing a Custom 77 T-Sonic electric guitar. The YouTube video can be seen here. This guitar is assembled in France and comes in a dark purple finish. A closeup shot of the guitar can be seen at 38:07 into the video.
In this photo of Justin Lockey playing with Tom Smith at Showcase Acustico @ Museo del 900, Milano (June 2014), Justin is playing a Taylor 910ce Acoustic-Electric cutaway guitar. The Mother-of-Pearl inlay design is consistent with Taylor 900 series acoustics from 2010 (according to the inlay guide from Taylor themselves), and the shape is distinctively a Dreadnought, which confirms it is the 910ce model. The abalone top trim also confirms it’s a 900 series acoustic.
In the video Editors – Live at Hurricane Festival 2024 (Full Set), Justin Lockey can be seen playing a Alusonic T-Special/P90 guitar throughout the set. A good look at it can be had at 6:27 into the video. His appears to have a clean mirror (or gray) finish, with a black pickguard. He also seems to have black tape covering the pickup selector switch.
