Lee Anderton's Other Gear
Lee owns an american standard strat. This guitar was originally a 70th birthday present for his father in law. after his father in law passed away, Lee inherited the guitar. he ended uP claptonifying the guitar much like his Moded squire. Much like the squire, he added the fender mid boost kit, and a set of new pickups. However in this guitar he put a set of fender noiseless single coils rather than the duncan set he has in the squire
In a video by Andertons Music Co, Lee Anderton discusses modifying one of his newer Cap10 models by replacing the Chapman-branded pickups with a Seymour Duncan set. He expresses his preference for Duncan pickups, noting that while his original Cap10 models featured a JB and Jazz set, this guitar is equipped with a Seymour Duncan SH-16/TB-16 59 Custom Hybrid in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. Anderton chose these pickups for their slightly punchier tone.
In the YouTube video "Customised Guitar Challenge - Shred vs Blues," Lee Anderton and Rob Chapman engage in a challenge to purchase and modify guitars within a 600 British pound budget. This budget covers the guitar, new parts, electronics, and labor by Andertons' technicians, who charge approximately 60 pounds per hour. For his guitar, which was customized to resemble a Fender Clapton Strat, Lee Anderton selected a Seymour Duncan SSL-1 pickup set. This choice was recommended by Keith Merrow, who was affiliated with Seymour Duncan at the time.
IN one of his newer cap 10 models, lee swaped the chapman branded pickups for a duncan set. Lee states that he loves duncan pickups. in his original cap10 models he had a jb and jazz set. in this guitar however, he has a custom hybrid in the bridge and a 59 in the nick. He picked these to have a set in his guitar that is alittle more pokey
In this video Lee goes over his guitar collection. In his collection he has several strats. one strat is the squire classic vibe strat he moded for the mod challenge video. he put the fender mid boost kit in the guitar to resemble the clapton strat. Also in the video lee shows off an american strat. He gave his father in law this guitar for his 70th birthday. Lee inherited the guitar after his father inlaw passed away. Lee decided to "claptonefy" the american strat after playing and liking the mid boost in the squire.
In this video Lee demos the Squire thinline tele that was modded by Monty's guitars. The pickups in the guitar were swapped with a DP 51 set in it. The DP 51 set is the signature pickups of Lee's good friend Pete "Danish Pete" Honore
