Luther Dickinson's Guitars
“I fell in love with the ES-330,” says Dickinson, “so what I wanted to do was combine the two. If we can get the P-90 sound and response of a 330 on a 335 semi-hollow that can handle the rock ‘n’ roll environment — now we’re really getting somewhere." - excerpt from his Gibson interview.
He uses this guitar, according to Gibson interview.
Well, duh, that is his signature model, and is widely used by him, as said in this Gibson interview.
This one was mentioned at around 5:58 minute mark. Dickinson said before that this guitar was tuned to C# (C#F#BEG#C#). Hofner gave this one away to Dickinson. What makes this guitar exceptional are inlays, which can be seen only on sunburst/tobaccoburst Verythins. This guitar has Lollar pickups, as Dickinson mentioned around 6:10 minute mark. Those could possibly be Lollar Imperial Aged Humbuckers.
In a Gibson interview, Luther Dickinson mentions that the Gibson ES-125 is among the guitars he takes on tour.
He has more ES-335 guitars. Here is explanation of some of them.
- At 5:13, he shows his Gibson ES-335, sunburst. He mentions that this was reissue of ES-335 and that it was used on a new record. ("It's all over it.") This guitar is tuned to Open D (DADF#AD).
At 7:25 minute mark, Dickinson shows his Vox Virage II DC. Even though he has an "option" to switch between humbuckers and P90's, he sticks with the humbuckers.
"I grew up playing fully hollow Gibson ES’s--my dad’s 175, a 330, even my beloved Epiphone Casino." - excerpt from his Gibson interview.

When I was about fourteen, I got an Epiphone Casino. I still have that guitar and play it all the time.
This is what Luther said for Epiphone's interview.
First one is also seen in his rig rundown, and is coloured the same as Nick Olivieri's Casino. Here is the photo of him playing this Casino..
Second guitar is featured on Epiphone's website. Here is the photo.
In a Premier Guitar "Rig Rundown" video, Luther Dickinson is shown using a Hagström Tremar Viking Deluxe Electric Guitar, also known as the Hagström Viking Deluxe SC. He tunes this guitar to DGDGBD (Open G).
I also have an Epiphone Korina Flying V that I love…that thing sounds so damn good…and an Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Standard that I love. There’s just something about the Flying V and that Elitist that sound so good.

At around 6:45 minute mark, Dickinson discusses his red Hagstrom Viking. This guitar has presumably stock pickups, and it has a resonator.
In this photo, Dickinson is spotted playing Gibson SG Standard.
