Mat Welsh previously used the Ibanez FR-320 guitar around 2011. During this period, he modified it with a Bare Knuckle Aftermath pickup in the bridge and an EMG pickup in the neck, although the EMG was not wired. This information is supported by his Instagram post.

Mat Welsh owns two LTD SN-1000FR guitars, both equipped with Seymour Duncan Invader pickups. This is highlighted in his Instagram post from Denver.

Mat Welsh uses the Ibanez FR6UCBK guitar, equipped with Bare Knuckle Aftermath pickups, during While She Sleeps' 2019 Asia tour, the "SO WHAT?" release tour, and as a warm-up guitar for summer festivals. This is evident in the live performance at UNIFY 2019, as captured by UNIFY Gathering on YouTube.

Mat uses this guitar for most of the cleans in You Are We as he says it sounds better. However, the guitar was featured most prominently in the music video for Silence Speaks feat. Oli Sykes. Mat later passed this guitar onto his cousin and henceforth no longer owns it.

Mat used this guitar in the music video for ‘four walls’ and he used it live from 2014 to early 2016

Mat Welsh uses a Fender Telecaster for recording sessions, although he does not use it for live performances. He also featured this guitar in the music video for While She Sleeps' 2011 single "be(lie)ve." Mat mentioned that the Telecaster provides a distinctively twangy sound in recordings.

In an Instagram post by Mat Welsh, he is seen using a Gibson Firebird Vintage guitar during a 2014 show at the Manchester Ritz. The caption, accompanied by a photo taken by Noelia Amieva, highlights his performance in the UK. Additionally, it's noted that Sean also played a Gibson Les Paul during this period, suggesting a collaboration with Gibson, although they continued to primarily use Ibanez guitars.

He used this guitar live from 2011 to 2015. It was his first ibanez fr. He originally had EMG’s fitted in it but in 2013 switched to passive pickups and fitted a bareknuckle aftermath in the bridge and left the EMG in the neck in wired. He later sold this guitar in 2016 as you can see from a post on his insta. It also has the words “true world torture” carved into the bottom and a six tally carved into the back. It is a prestige model but he broke the neck on it in 2011 and replaced it with a standard fr neck

Mat Welsh used the Ibanez AZ Sparkle Blue Prototype during the SO WHAT? album release tour in early 2019. He later transitioned to ESP/LTD guitars for the Architects America tour in May. According to an Instagram post by whileshesleeps, he sold the Ibanez guitar in June 2020.

in this Instagram post above and in all shows since around 2023 matt welsh can be seen rocking these schecters as well as a few other schecter models. he has been seen playing the white, gold and black versions of this model with his own stylistic designs on them with stickers and writing.
