He describes them as a tool, stating, "The NS10’s are a tool; they don’t sound nice, but you know what you’re listening to. People say I mix loud, but with the NS10’s if you turn them up too loud, they’re just so bright that you can’t tell what the hell’s going on" (The Mix, August 1997).
