Strauss used this as an effects processor before Kemper Profiler and Boss GT-1000.

“Live, for my solo band, I use a BOSS GT-1000 pedalboard,” she says. “But for my session work, it’s my Kempers, and the majority of the record is the same tones you hear onstage with the Kemper. Funny enough, it’s modeled from my previous processor, which is a Rocktron Prophesy. It’s not modeled from any amp in particular. It’s just pinched, pulled, massaged, and tweaked to be my own tone. When I switched over to Kemper, I couldn’t find anything I liked as much, so I hooked up the modeling software and modeled my processor. And it’s my signature Ibanez JIVAs across the board—all the gigs, all the time.”

JIVA X2 is a fourth signature guitar of Strauss. It came out in the summer 2022. In the January 2023 Guitar World issue, Strauss discusses the guitar.

I’m still so obsessed with the new [Ibanez] JIVA X Ghost that came out in the summer. I’ve always loved a white guitar and I finally got to design one. [...] When I had the chance to design the JIVA with Ibanez, I already had all my dream specs in my head because I’d had so many different guitars. I knew I wanted a mahogany body, a quilted maple top and an ebony fretboard. I knew what I wanted the pickups to sound like. I wanted a guitar that screamed “me,” and that’s what we got with the original JIVA 10 with the black-to-blond burst. We expanded to the JIVA JR, which I call the “beach burst” because it goes from black to blue to blond. Now we have the JIVA 10L and two JIVA X2 models — the original black one and the new JIVA X Ghost, which is the white one I use onstage. It’s my favorite guitar.
