The Rza talks about the Ensoniq ASR-10, the legendary board he used to create many classic songs, at 5:58, saying "...But in 1991 going on 92, Ensoniq put out the ASR-10 and when they did that...that's when I became a master producer. The whole first One Hundred Wu-Tang songs was made on ASR-10..."
At 3:29 in this video, RZA says, "...I was at Easy Mo Bee's house, we were on Gza's first album and he had a SP-1200, and I'd never seen that in my life never knew what it was. It was 1987 probably." "Took about a year and a half before i finally got ahold of one....so i was about 19 when i got my first SP-1200..."
Rza talks about his production gear history in this video, mentioning this Casio at 3:55: "I also had a Casio rz1 that also sampled.."
At 5:32, RZA says, as he talks about his past gear, "...Ensoniq had made something called the EPS 16 plus....and I went and got it."
The Rza talks gear he used in the past at 5:10, saying, "...when we switched and he gave me the Eps i started making two bar loops, 4 bar loops..nobody wasn't doing that. So it was the Eps that turned me on to that, and he traded with me, and i fell in love with the Eps i din't care about the Sp-1200 anymore.."
The RZA talks about his history with drum machines and such in this video at 2:50, including the 909 machine "...My Dj Scotty Rock gave me my first 909 drum machine..."
