Steve Harris' Amplifiers
"These amps are the closest I've ever got to my trusty sound. High praise indeed!" - From the Orange Amps Facebook page
"Steve Harris (SH): Well a lot of people have commented on that and it is weird, because they freak out when I tell them I just use 4times12 cabs. But they’ve got full duty EV speakers in them and I do get the full range, from the top right through to the bottom. It’s a good tight sound — not so much a bottom end rumble."
A Trace Elliot GP12X pre-amp can be seen behind Steve Harris in this photo.
This video says Steve uses these speakers in his marshall cab at around 2:20 in the video.
Standard 4x12 cabs weigh 24 kgs each. Steve's cabs weigh over 44 kgs (since each EVM12L weighs 11 kgs each)! now THAT is a heavy metal cabinet!! (and I'm not sorry)
Steve Harris utilizes the Gallien-Krueger MB800 800W Ultralight Bass Head as part of his emergency backup tour rig. This information is corroborated by a detailed walkthrough in the video titled "Iron Maiden - Steve's Rig" on the official Iron Maiden YouTube channel, hosted by Brent Diamond, where he presents Steve's setup for #TheFuturePastTour.
In this video, you can see Gallien-Krueger MB800 head at 2:33 in Steve's rack.
Steve Harris used the Peavey Mark III Series 400 Bass Amp as part of his live rig in the early 1980s, as evidenced by the image available on Equipboard.
