The Sounds' Microphones
Audix is on the road with Swedish rockers The Sounds! FOH Paul O’Shaughnessy gave us an update on lead singer Maja Ivarsson's experience with her OM7: "Maja has used the Audix OM7 for several years. When the band all switched to IEM’s they found that they were getting a lot of cymbal spill if Maja was singing from the drum riser, as she likes to do. She also likes to walk in front of the PA and get out front with the audience. We needed a mic with a tight pickup pattern and a great sound. We tried out a few mics but the OM7 was always going to be the one. I like it, the band like their IEM mix, and Maja loves it. We now use OM7s on all four main vocals and the spare. We wouldn’t be without them on tour!"
In a live performance of "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake," The Sounds use the Shure Beta 57A microphone as an alternative to the Audix OM7, as seen in a video uploaded by cateluv on YouTube.
In a live performance of "Beatbox" on Nyhetsmorgon in 2009, The Sounds use the Shure Beta 58A microphone, as seen in the Showgow video on YouTube.
In a live performance on "David Letterman," The Sounds' lead vocalist, Maja, uses a Shure SM58 microphone.
