Tim Sult's Amplifiers
“As soon as I plugged in and turned it up, I thought it (Rockerverb MKIII) sounded absolutely incredible!”
At the 28 second mark of the Burning Beard video, Tim can be seen using a Model T.
Purchased in 2016 along with a Vintage ORANGE combo
In a Premier Guitar Rig Rundown video on YouTube, Tim Sult of Clutch discusses using the Orange Tiny Terror 15 Watt Tube Amp TT15H as part of his setup.
"This tour saw him pairing the EL34-powered Orange OR100 with the a Park P45 that runs ons KT66s."
Also, at 8:38 of the video, Tim starts talking about the P45
"The P45's power and volume is harnessed by a Jet Citty Jettenuator because he has to dime the P45 for its desired tone."
Also, at 11:15 of the video Tim briefly talks about the attenuator.
Tim Sult used this head throughout Clutch's 1995 self titled album and 1998's The Elephant Riders and was used for live performances from the mid to late 90s (maybe early 2000s?) and two of these amp heads are found in this youtube music video for The Soapmakers from The Elephant Riders album at around the 1:13 mark. it is also listed as one of the amps he uses in the CD insert of Clutch's 1995 self titled album (the CD version of course)
This is one of the longest used amps that Tim Sult has used in Clutch. He's used the JCM 900 since basically the beginning of clutch, and seen in this video from 1991 being (so far) the earliest video footage we have of clutch performing live, it looks like Tim is using (possibly two?) Marshall JCM 900 amp heads. Most likely this was used on the first three Clutch releases, 1991's Pitchfork, 1992's Passive Restraints, and 1993's Transnational Speedway League. But also he's still used JCM 900s in the present day too and has confirmed that it was one of the main amps (along with a Marshall JTM 45 head) that was used on Clutch's 2013 album, Earth Rocker. its uncertain what other albums he has used this head on, but its one of the amp heads that Tim's used the most throughout Clutch.
Used all over many clutch albums by Tim. Tim has stated that during the recording of 2013’s “Earth Rocker” album, he says the only amps he used on that record were a Marshall JCM900 head and a Marshall JTM45 head. It was also credited as one of the amps used on Clutch’s 1995 Self Titled record however it was credited as a JTM40 40 Watt head. Most likely though it is a JTM45 cause I couldn’t find any information on a 40 Watt JTM head.
