In this photo of Malmsteen's collection, towards the back we can see three Rickenbacker 4001 Basses, one in a Jetglo finish, one in a Yellow and/or Natural finish and a bindingless one in a Red finish that doesn't appear to be Burgundyglo.

In this November 3, 2019 Facebook post on Malmsteen's official page, we can see an photo of a Buttercream Yellow Fender Jazz Bass with aged White pickups and knobs, the photo is captioned:

"Bringing out my @fender jazz bass with Seymour Duncan pickups."

In this November 29, 2013 Facebook post, Malmsteen can be seen in an article for Bass Player Magazine, this article reads:
