These are awesome: careful with Squiers.

They don't fit perfectly on Squiers, but if you do a little drilling they work. So it's cool!

These are really great tuners all in all.

taylor_itkin

This is a great cable.

Long, durable, and no feedback- perfect cable for any use!

taylor_itkin

Never wear down. Too small.

Good for soloing, but if you're playing rhythm, get something else.

taylor_itkin

Do not buy this.

It's a cheap guitar, true, and it works, also true. But this guitar is NOT a nice guitar. Do not be fooled.

The fret buzz on this guitar, and every single one of the same model by Epiphone that I have played (around 7 others), is OUTRAGEOUS. It was so bad that adjusting the height of the bridge didn't do ANYTHING to fix it. I called my store and found out the best way to fix it was to get a new, custom-cut nut. Not worth it.

The pickup is of the "meh" quality.

Just don't get this.

jimmy_hiers

IMO it needs a P90. You can adjust out the fret buzz.

taylor_itkin

@jimmy_heirs the Epiphone version is built WITH a humbucker, so I'm assuming that has nothing to do with anything. And I tried adjusting out the fret buzz. For days on end.

jimmy_hiers

That's a shame. It's not a bad looking guitar. I understand that you don't want to have to do much setup when you buy a new axe. Personally, I do my own setups, so turning the truss rod is common for me. If they told you a new nut was needed on a new guitar, stay away from that music store,a s they have no idea what they are talking about. You could swap out that bucker for a Duncan. So what did you end up doing with it?

taylor_itkin

@jimmy_heirs I ended up returning it to the store the next day. It was no big deal, I got a Les Paul Special for it, and I was just starting out, so no real losses.

This was a great, great guitar, just not for ME.

This was my very first electric guitar, and I named her Stephania (I name my guitars). She was fantastic; two humbuckers, mahogany body, rosewood fretboard- the works. She was in a satin finish, which wasn't to my liking, but didn't affect the playing.

The neck, like almost any SG, was HUGE. Now, as a beginner, when I got this guitar from my parents for my birthday, this was a big problem. It got to the point where my thumb was 100% numb, all of the time. Even if I wasn't playing. The neck was WAY too big, and it was just too hard to play.

I ended up selling the guitar on Craigslist for about $285. I used that money to buy my Strat, Lucy. I am very happy with the purchase.

This guitar was a very, very nice guitar with a very, very nice sound. It was just too hard to play.

Love these

Nothing wrong with them at all. Even after extensive use, they stay firm.

Amaing

Turned my Strat into an amazing punk-rock machine.

Nice picks, terrible durability

These picks are really great for a little while; they have good memory and good resistance. They are easy to old on to thanks to the Max Grip-ness, and they don't wear down quickly. At least, not on the surface.

The problem comes after using a pick for a while. The durability starts to deteriorate. It gets flimsy and bendy. Not good. For a while, they work, but need to replace them soon after.

taylor_itkin

It's a very good case, yet not sturdy.

Molded to fit a Les Paul, I use this for my Epiphone. It's an OK case; it holds the guitar well. The storage space is small, but that's the guitar's fault, sort of.

The hardshell part of the case is kind of stingy- if you want really great protection, for something like a custom guitar or a custom shop- buy something else.

what do you really wanna store in it? a giant drug stash? I guess some folks put a cable in there, but case storage is like for emergency strings and maybe a backup tuner these days

taylor_itkin

@jimmarch1 it doesn't fit strings that well, either, at least not until you take them out of the paper/plastic and it's just the string. Which is a hassle. It's also not great for tuners if it's not a headstock-clip-on.

taylor_itkin

My favorite strings

I love these strings sooooo much, they ring loud and long, and are comfortable on the fingers.

taylor_itkin

Nice strings, yet not my favorite.

I like these strings; they're comfortable and easy to use. That being said, they are not my favorite.

taylor_itkin

Amazing!

I love this strap. I use this on my pride-and-joy guitar, Lucy, my modded Stratocaster. It's duct taped to the guitar (I'm 16, get over it), and it holds well, but that's because of the tape.

The strap itself is kind of hard to adjust if you're wearing the guitar while adjusting, but that's the only downside. It's really long if you want it to be, and I wear my guitar low, so that's nice. It also is very strong; you can tell just by looking and feeling it. It's very well made, no fraying or seams ripped. It's also got great padding, never hurts my shoulder. I love this strap.

Really good pedal for the price I got it at

I bought a brand new version of this pedal for $80 at guitar center, and I have to tell you, it is VERSATILE. I was able to get some tones out of it that sounded like some of my favorite bands: I got a nice thrash tone for Metallica, a crunchy tone with a British voice from the amp for Green Day, and a lighter crunch for some stuff like AC/DC.

The pedal died, unfortunately. It won't work even plugged into the wall anymore. I think I broke it somehow, probably when I dropped it down the stairs when I slipped on my dog's tail (the dog is OK). But the bottom line is, this is a very nice pedal for the price.

I only gave it 4 stars because there are BETTER pedals, but this is great for the price.

its a souped up Boss DS1... anyway, its probably an easy fix, something the power supplu or even just an issue with the 9v barrel jack not contacting the board right after you dropped it.... get some solder on any sketchy looking connections and see what happens

taylor_itkin

@jimmarchi1 thanks for the advice!

taylor_itkin

I love this mic

I have this mic on a stand, and the quality of sound is far superior to any microphone I have ever used. 10/10 would recommend.

taylor_itkin

It's kind of meh.

It's a decent amp for a starter player. Once you pass that threshold, you find yourself immediately wanting more.

taylor_itkin

Pretty decent, terrible string tension

I don't know a lot about this guitar, in actuality. My mother bought it for my father when they got engaged, and he gave it to me when I picked up guitar. It's just a regular old six-string. The string tension is ridiculously high, and the strings snap all the time. That being said, she sounds great.

I named her Josephine.

taylor_itkin

A piece of shit that I turned into something probably shittier.

I call this guitar DJ. He is absolute crap; within a month of getting him, the bridge pickup went microphonic. Instead of wasting money fixing a shitty guitar, I did something worse.

I took a 42 gauge string that I had lying around, snipped all the strings off of DJ, and put the spare 42 gauge where the D string should be. I tune it down way low and use it to sort of djent when I'm super bored.

Obviously, it doesn't work well. It's just a shitty guitar that I can't sell and don't want to throw away for sentiment.

amazingforlife

I know what you should do:

1: Get a pickup like the Seymour Duncan JB that won't go microphonic.

2: Put the strings back on.

3: If there is fret buzz you could just go to a luthier and have it refretted.

taylor_itkin

She is my baby.

Lucy doesn't look at all like the picture. She's the same color and that's it. I have modded her within an inch of her life. She has stickers all over her, because fuck you, that's why.

She has a Green Day sticker, a Pierce the Veil sticker (my first band I was into), a planet sticker, a "No one for president" sticker, a PARENTAL ADVISORY sticker, a grim reaper sticker, a biohazard sticker, a star sticker, a "sexy inside" sticker, a musical-heart sticker, and my personal favorite, a sticker that says "Hello, my name is: Butt Head".

I changed the tuners from the sealed Squier tuners to Fender Locking tuners because they are far superior. I plan to change her bridge pickup to a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. I also had to attach the strap with duct tape, because the strap-locks from Dunlop (don't use them) gouged a hole in the place where the screw usually go, and I don't want to shove toothpicks into my guitar.

I don't care if you like my guitar. Fuck you if you don't.
