Limelight is a fuzz / distortion unit designed to pay tribute to the first commercially available fuzz, its british derivatives and their offsprings. While not a part for part clone of any of these designs, the sound is all there and then some. A beam control morphs from nasty “satisfaction” gated fuzz up to mkI / II style fuzz distortion.

But there is more than that. Limelight is probably the first fuzz pedal to have extraordinary low gain boost sounds. Set gain at minimum settings, beam all the way up and drive your amp to sonic bliss. All analog! We hand select 3 New Old Stock Germanium transistors for each pedal ensuring ideal performance and consistency.

Note: Limelight requires a center negative power supply for proper operation. It is a positive ground circuit. Do not use a daisy chain power supply with negative ground effects. Please make sure to use an isolated power supply output !

Inspired by the vintage Bell and Howell 385 Filmosound projector that guitarists have modified and used as guitar amps, Walrus has created a dynamic and responsive overdrive modeled after the projector's tone.

The 385 was developed to have the same simple but effective tone control as it’s older relative, but unlike the projector, the 385 breaks up the single tone control and integrates separate, boost and cut bass and treble, allowing the player to get more creative with mid-frequency scoops and bumps allowing for a much wider array of tones to be achieved.

The pedal is internally running at 18v, which helps us nail the same dynamic feel of the amp in a stomp box. This means it is extremely sensitive to how hard you dig in – just like the amp.

Updated for 2023, The 385 MKII has received the following features:

• An A/B switch has been added giving the pedal two separate sets of volume and gain. Use it like a preset to change the volume and/or gain for specific parts!

385+ Switch:When the switch is down, you are able to achieve classic 385 sounds. Flip the switch up to add an additional gain stage to the input of the pedal, achieving heavier gain sounds and driving the pedal harder.

ODIN takes one of the best octave-up fuzz circuit designs of all time, strips away all the fluff and over-engineering and leaves you with a simple, yet powerful device. Turn it on and you are greeted by a wonderful, saggy, yet open and carefully compressed fuzztone, not too dissimilar from a Fuzz Face. ODIN is much louder, more mids-forward, less compressed and just a joy to work with. It also cleans up really nicely, but not as abruptly as you would expect from a Fuzz Face type pedal.

Click ODIN into octave mode with the secondary foot switch and you now have an absolutely exquisite octave fuzz roaring from your speakers. It’s really loud and it’s tuned to let your guitar jump out of any mix without getting too pointy or harsh. The two fuzzes are entirely discrete designs within the box, making switching between them a seamless experience, not usually something you’ll find with this type of circuit. Making the two channels independent also made it possible for me to choose components to specifically suit each side, leaving you with a highly tuned, user-friendly device. ODIN does not like being placed after wahs, but buffers seem to be mostly fine.

Only feed it 9VDC centre tip negative and expect it to draw about 250mA of current worst case scenario.

As on most good germanium fuzzes, reducing guitar volume transforms fuzz into glassy cleans. The PANDΩRA is exemplary in this respect, delivering bright and highly defined clean tones that along with the MORE transparent boost cuts right in the mix and covers all the musical needs.

Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive (SHOD) is a touch sensitive low gain overdrive pedal. It is designed to overdrive distorted amplifiers and give dynamically controlled light overdrive on clean sounds.

Distortion level can be controlled by pick attack and pickup strength. Harder picking for overdrive and softer for a cleaner tone. With the unique Focus control, you can adjust the feel and dynamics of the pedal as well as overall EQ. Turning Focus CCW you need to play harder to get distortion and the tone is softer, great for jazz and blues. Focus turned CW gives a slight treble boost and earlier distortion great for classic rock.

The Sunface has many transistor options, there is no BEST, they are all very similar but have some differences that could make some better than others for your needs. Here is a short summary, much more info is on the Sunface page on analogman.com BART: these became available in 2020, BIG fuzz sounds but excellent cleanup throughout the volume pot range on your guitar. Cuts through great, some edge and crunch to the sounds. Run the FUZZ knob down a bit and the BIAS up a bit for cleaner sounds like the white dot NKT275. These will use the slightly larger case as they are too big for the small case. This case allows any options (top jacks, on/off pot, top power jack if no CLEAN knob). These are sometimes just a little noisy (white noise/hiss) and come in Medium-high gain. We also have a different model of the BART which is low gain and has a Big Muff sort of sound, like an AC128 transistor, not as clear as our others but great for that thick compressed sound. RCA: These are back in 2021! These are the only Germanium transistors we have found that are not very temperature sensitive. These are pretty bright, and can get very clean. These tend to be a bit noisier than others but we don't use them if they are too noisy. They come in low gain and higher gain (med-high). Low gain still has plenty of fuzz. IN 2022 we got some that look the same but made in 1967. These are high gain for Germanium but sound great, though not good at extreme temperatures.

Tremolos are the kind of pedal that once you turn it on, you never go back. But like we said above, we’ve introduced the effect to the modern world by way of creating 3 distinct modes that introduce entirely new feature sets and in turn ways of operating the pedal.

Advanced Features

Momentary|Latching Mode: The INSTA-CHOP and DOUBLER can operate either in:

1) Momentary | only on while its footswitch is held down.

2) Latching | Toggled on and off when the footswitch is held down.

Hold down the ON|CHOP or TAP|DBL footswitch during the entire LED power-up sequence to change its respective operation.

GEEZER MODE:It wouldn’t be a Diamond Tremolo without the classic tremolo effects. No frills, just pure undulating goodness. Geezer mode disables the secondary footswitch for those seeking maximum simplicity. Hold the TAP|MODE toggle switch down during the entire LED power-up sequence to engage this setting.

Depth and Duty: this pedal stores 3 DEPTH knob settings: normal depth|duty, INSTA-OPTO depth, and INSTA-CHOP duty. To change one of these values, the pedal must be in that state and the depth knob must be adjusted – in momentary mode, hold down the CHOP footswitch while adjusting the depth knob.

DICER MODE – 11th Pos. On Rhythm Knob: Turn the TAP|DBL footswitch into a killswitch by engaging the CHOPPER only while its pressed or held down. As such, there is no tap tempo or DOUBLER in this setting: set the speed and duty cycle using their respective knobs/ Rhythmic patterns also can be selected by simultaneously holding down the TAP|DBL footswitch and turning the Rhythmic control to the desired pattern

TRAILS MODE: In TRAILS mode, the delayed signal will trail off according to the FEEDBACK knob when the effect is bypassed. In non-trails mode, the delay will immediately kill the delayed signal when the effect is bypassed.

Hold the TAP|MODE toggle switch up during the entire LED power-up sequence to turn TRAILS mode on or off.
