I’ve been a musician since childhood. Violin as a kid, then bass for 10 years. Percussion for 5 and double bass for another 5. Acoustic guitar always on the side, and now electric guitars are the protagonists.

This is the more syrupy univibe I have ever played. Beautiful sounding beast. Pairs extremely well with germanium fuzzes. V3 can be used with any 10k ohm expression pedal.
This pedal is absolutely insane! Mike is the best fuzz pedal builder alive and any Sunface is a proof of that.
The BART/ Rca is thick sounding, woolly and smooth. The volume cleanup is superb. I pretty much leave it on all the time just riding the guitar volume and tone knobs to adapt to the other pedals.
I can’t recommend this enough.
From all the Big Muffs I’ve tried, this is the most versatile. Simple to operate, great sounds.
This pedal nails the Octavia sound and then some. The blend knob is very useful to be able to add just a bit of the effect into a fuzz or overdrive, maintaining the clarity for chords intact.
This compressor is spectacular!
I’m a big fan of optical compressors and this one is simply the best of them.
The compression is smooth and pretty much transparent, and the EQ works beautifully. I can place it after germanium fuzz faces without losing the harmonics and overtones.

This pedal nailed the sound I had in my mind and could not achieve. It is superb! So round and full of harmonics. It has a good amount of low end and the treble is all there too. Goes from Mosfet overdrive to tone bender, bias or not. Cleans up magically no matter where you put it in the chain. Pairs up amazingly with a tube screamer. Works for chords or searing lead tones. An all rounder for sure.
Anyway, if you got to this review, that means you are looking for something different, and the Embla will get you there.

A very good tool for tailoring and beefing up your tone. It has an awesome creamy breakup. A bluesbreaker with EQ.
Small, versatile and reliable. I leave mine buffered and always on. Second in chain, after germanium fuzz.
Rugged and sturdy pedal. Works great. I currently have the EQD hummingbird and the EHX Pitchfork on it. The pedals deals well with 10k to 50k ohms.

This is a great lofi vibrato pedal. It is a little on the treble side of the spectrum, you might have to add the lows back after it. Pairs great with overdrives and fuzzes.
A tone knob could greatly improve this pedal, that why I gave 4 stars.
I have had the MkIIs for about a year now and all I can say is this is not the fuzz for me. I keep tweaking the knobs and I never seem to find a tone I can say “this is it”. The filter knob is only usable on the right side, otherwise it gets awfully muddy. As if I were playing with a pillow in front of the speakers. The “secret” trimpots inside should really be in front of the pedal. It doesn’t make sense having to open it every time I’m not satisfied with the tones coming from the crunch and scoop knobs. I really like way huge and they make awesome pedals, but for a super versatile fuzz, this is not the one.
If you have narrowed down your search for the next overdrive, and the Plumes is still on the list, just buy it. It is truly an awesome pedal. The three voices make it a very versatile pedal. In a nutshell you have a bluesbreaker on the left, a clean boost on the middle and a tube screamer on the right. All three work really well with tone and drive knobs and the plumes pairs astoundingly well with other pedals. The headroom on this thing is also something to be revered.
It’s just great.
This is a great loop pedal! What really stands out is the double switches. No need to double tap the same switch and all that annoying perfect timing required. Tap record to start, and press play to stop recording. As simple as that.
Then on top of this perfect and simple features, you can record another layer by tapping record again and so on. If you didn’t like the last layer, play switch will delete it, without deleting the rest. It’s marvellous really.
I don’t really use the other features, like external tap, double speed/half speed or play in reverse, but just because my main goal is to practice rhythm, riffs and leads.
It can be buffered or true bypass, and as it goes last in the signal chain, having it on buffered helps sending a strong signal to the amp.
It’s not the cheapest looper, but it will only be expensive until you buy it. After that the money won’t matter anymore, just it’s value to your rig. Same as all the other awesome pedals out there.

I was lucky to buy a Casino Coupe in red whist it was still in production. This guitar is fantastic!

An excellent bedroom tube amp at an affordable price. It has only one volume knob, so you get the tone straight from the tubes. No EQ’s. Breaks up at around 7. Two channels, low and high gain.
