The controller probably costs $50 bucks to make. It is very cheap and flimsy. Why does it cost $999 (what I got it for) ? Software. Which is also poo.

Wow, bold statement! They're not cheap that's for sure. What monitors did you have (or try) before them?

Indeed. I've had a pair of Genelec 8030Bs for two years, and a pair of vxt 8s for about 5 months. The Opals are definitely a whole new level. The frequency response is like nothing I've ever heard. Low end presence is very clear, and the ability to do room correction right out of the box = "uncolored and accurate". As for the price? Worth every penny.
