Top notch headphones

I can see why these come very well recommended as they are really noise cancelling headphones and very light weight and comfortable to use. For the price they hold up well to just about everything on the market in the price range except the name to back up the product and the case and accessories that come with it send it a step above. No chincy cheap gear hear. And how can you refuse custom plates for your headphone. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality sound engines,but

I purchased these because of the Steve Aoki branding and they are without a doubt an amazing on the ear headphones. The only issue I had was the unbreakable band is pretty tight on the average head. Which eventually ended up with my ears hurting after too long. Outstanding product, but not for long wear in my opinion.

Great Product for the Experienced Producer

I have used Ableton's many time and just prefer to use FL Studio's. Not that there is anything wrong with this very well thought out product. I just find it more for the better experienced producer.

Numark IDJPro

http://www.numark.com/product/idjpro

The only issue with this is the Plug was not intigrated for the New iPad air. but it can easily be fixed with the purchase of an official apple adapter, an exacto knife, and heatsink. A couple of screws to remove to add the adapter inside and your ready to go. This was not Numarks issue, but more so that at the time of the new apple release of the lightning plug. people were unaware that apple would change this plug. All in all with the ipad air and a sixable case. it will fit in the system and run like it is supposed to run. A very good quality DJ mixer and decks for the money. Plus you acn get them fairly inexpensively.

ReLoop RH-2500 review by VLCTY

I just recently purchased the ReLoop RH-2500's about 2 weeks ago just to try them out as an alternative for a backup set of Monitoring headphones when I am producing music on the road.

Packaging... The ReLoop RH-2500 comes in a decent box much like many of the Name Brand manufacturers, A little cheaper in packaging, but none the less still better than most I have seen in stores.

Upon unboxing, the headphones come with the standard set of instructions,a well secured/well packaged set of headphones, and a nickle plated 1/4" TRS screw on adapter.

Immediately upon inspection of the headphones, they are comparatively the same style of DJ headphones with adjustable swivel ear cans, a padded head strap, and a single side permanent plug.

In this review I will compare these to the most commonly used DJ headphones. in weight, construction, design, sound and cord length/attachments.

Ascetics and functionality... The RH-2500's are pretty much an all plastic construction, though very light are attractively designed to the eye. But I still feel as if I could break them. Though the headband is padded, they are nothing more than a faux leather material stitched over the band with no actual foam on the underneath, a plastic adjustment on each side extends out for head adjustment, and a permanently attached 3 1/2' spiral cord is mounted to the left side as traditionally found in most production headphones. The wire begins its spiral at about 9" past the can and continues for about 15" before going back to a straight cord. I felt the wire to be a lessor quality as it did not have the flex one would need while DJ'ing an event.

I should note that these are not an over the ear headphone. The RH-2500's have a large round shaped padded area. That though are padded, Due to the width of the head band on a standard sized head make it hard to mount flush to the ear. And though padded, The padding is not as high quality as one would hope. They do appear to come off and I feel they could be upgraded to a better pad if need be.

Another noticeable mention is the RH-2500's only swivel out away from the body if you were to wear them as they should be worn with Left Ear and Right ear. None the less all swivel headphones I have worn in the past generally swivel both to and away from the body. and finally the L(eft) and R(ight)is stamped into the plastic ONLY on the inside on the rotation collars.

Performance... In this test I used a Native Industries Traktor Audio 2 DJ Interface playing Gareth Emery's Dynamite. I choose this song for the simple fact of the lows, highs and audio in the track which has a wide range of tones that allow me to hear the switches in the song. Thus being a producer, I am able to spot the changes that most music lovers often will not hear.

I first played the song at 25%, then 50%, and finally 75% (Never once hitting over 75%) I wanted to give the engines on the RH-2500's a chance to break in so I allowed the music to play for 3 hours continuously at 15% before testing. Then it was on to listen to the headphones.

All 3 level's brought on an interesting observation. Though these headphones are not the greatest in material quality. The RH-2500 had some actual clean punch and picked up tones rather well at nominal levels. The big difference is the RH-2500 had at times a bit too much punch where they began to sound over modulated after 50%. And more evident then anything they were not as crisp by then, more of a muddy pickup with low bass, but better than I expected.

Final thoughts... Price wise as an entry level headphone. I would say in a club environment or a party with a lot of crowd noise, or producing music as a profession. not such a great headphone when one needs to mix the live tracks or hear the actual music they are producing.

DJ'ing a private party, small wedding, or even producing music as a hobby you should be Fine! Even just to listen to music these would be a decent pair of headphones compared to most retail stores with the same cost.
