Add a website review of an item

Thank you.

The TONE KING IMPERIAL PREAMP is another recent release that generated a lot of coverage that’s in the same boat in that it has no reviews on the item page. Here’s links to a few examples of critic reviews from recognised publications:

Add a website review of an item

Thanks mate. I think one of the most compelling reasons is to keep items up to date with contemporaneous reviewing, thus lessening the burden on admins for that task. For example, I was very surprised that one of the most interesting pedal releases from two of the industry’s heavy-hitters (the Chase Bliss Audio Brothers AM https://equipboard.com/items/chase-bliss-audio-brothers-am) had no such reviews on the item, even though I’ve read three in major publications (Premier Guitar here https://www.premierguitar.com/gear/reviews/chase-bliss-brothers-am-review and Guitar here https://guitar.com/reviews/effects-pedal/the-big-review-chase-bliss-brothers-am/ and Guitar World here https://www.guitarworld.com/gear/guitar-pedals/analogman-chase-bliss-brothers-am-interview). I understand there’d need to be some kind of filter on what could be added so people are not just adding random blogs read by 5 people, but major industry publications like these could be the threshold (not too dissimilar to the retailers listed against items with sale prices etc.). Hope that helps, and thanks for your efforts.

Add a website review of an item

Hi. How does one add a website review of an item? I’ve seen such reviews (eg. linked to Premier Guitar, or Guitar, articles) on items before but can’t work out how to add them. I’d like to add a couple to the Chase Bliss Brothers AM item list from Premier Guitar and Guitar. Thanks.

Mods can you please add v3 of the Kingsley Minstrel. I’ve tried to add this using a Reverb link but yet again get error messages (very frustrating); maybe it’s a .au or southern hemisphere thing. Here’s the link https://reverb.com/au/item/91292086-kingsley-minstrel-v3-tube-overdrive.

Equipboard Improvement and Idea Thread - August 2025 Edition

Hi. I know we’re getting way beyond August now, but it would be nice to see one or two large music gear retailers from Australia/Oceania/Asia added as well for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere. 🤘👍🏿

Never seen that brand before in my extensive GASing in-person or on the interwebz.

What do you prefer? Tube amps or solid state/transistor amps?

I don’t find there’s any hassle or clutter with tube amps, though they are heavier than solid state amps. I’ve have tube amps for years and never needed to even replace tubes, let alone have one go on me during playing or transport etc. For me the appeal of tube amps vs solid state (and I’ve had both) is feel through the fingers and in the room, and interactivity with drive pedals (which I could never really get right with solid state amps). Having said that, one my mates that I jam with plays a 1W Marshall sold state thing and it is one of the most glorious things I’ve ever heard. But he’s a genius on guitar.

Hi mods, can you please investigate why I can’t add a Reverb link to the Dinosaural Cogmeister. This is the reverb link that keeps triggering an error message; it’s one of four on Reverb at the moment.

Equipboard Improvement and Idea Thread - August 2025 Edition

Hi again. Another observation relates to the accuracy of retailer availability for wish list items. When I see an item in my wish list and then click on the retailer links, it more often than not does not reflect what’s actually available. For example, the Mesa/Boogie California Tweed 2:20 Tube Head is on my wish list. Displayed next to it are four links (one Reverb link saying there’s 4 available used, another Reverb link saying there’s 8 available used, a Sweetwater link saying new ones are available when they’re not, and a Guitar Centre link saying they’re available new when they’re not). Like with my earlier post, I really appreciate this kind of information architecture that potentially makes it easy to convert your wish into a purchase, and I appreciate how hard it must be to maintain the accuracy and currency of this information, but it’s insanely frustrating to click on all of those links and have zero success. I’d personally rather just have links to retailers that might have the product and be disappointed from doing my own searching there than having my hopes raised from this inaccurate information. The end result is that I won’t click on those links anymore because I don’t trust them - the exact opposite of what Equipboard is hoping users can and will do. That’s a perverse outcome.

Equipboard Improvement and Idea Thread - August 2025 Edition

As an Australian user, the retailers that are linked to the ‘add gear’ section are meaningless to me. I’ve never bought from them and likely never will, except for hard to find items. Also, they often don’t have items that I have and want to add, and some of those items also aren’t available in Reverb, so it leaves users of the site with no way to add all of their gear other than bother the mods. It’s slightly painful to have to navigate those retailers as I’m not used to their sites and their catalogues, and it’s frustrating to then go to Reverb to also find the item isn’t there. So, while I do appreciate that this allows for quick purchasing lookups and (hopefully) sales conversions at those sites, as a user adding gear there’s often three steps (or more) to get there - the very definition of ‘sludge’ from our friends in the behavioural sciences, creating a disincentive to the behaviour that’s wanted (ie., adding gear). I’d much much prefer to be able to add an item directly with a link from the manufacturer’s website which, in the majority of case, will have links to dealers and retailers.

What do you prefer? Tube amps or solid state/transistor amps?

I definitely prefer tube amps - valve amps, for those us Down Under - but I think it also depends on whether we’re talking about tube preamps, tube power amps, or both being tubes. For example, with Origin Effects amp recreation pedals, they sound spectacular going into a power amp (tube or solid state) and then into a cabinet. Or, frankly, even into something like the Two Notes CAB M+ with matching IRs and then into an FRFR cab. So, maybe I’m really saying I like both, but the feel of a tube amp can’t be beaten.

Hi mods. Can you please add the Benson Vinny Reverb combo. When I tried to using this Sweetwater link https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BAVinnyC--benson-amps-vinny-reverb-1-by-10-inch-tube-combo-amplifier-black-tolex-oxblood-grille it told me it was an existing item but that was just the 1-watt head not this 5-watt combo. Thanks.
